If the rumor mill is to be believed, we could be singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” before Independence Day.

So says former Minnesota Twins star turned Talkin’ Baseball host Trevor Plouffe.

“I just heard from multiple sources that on June 10th, Spring Training 2 will start. July 1st will be Opening Day and all teams will be playing at their home ballparks,” Plouffe Tweeted Monday.

USA Today’s Bob Nightengale also has sources telling him that a first pitch by July 4th would make for an accurate timetable.
