If every game is going to be like game 1, then get ready for some major heart palpitations.
The Heat found themselves down, and then up, and then down again throughout the game, until eventually they were getting beaten by 12 points by the start of the 4th quarter. That’s when the clutch gene kicked in for guys like Dragic, Herro, Crowder, and Butler.
Huge 3 pointers led the way as Miami was able to take the lead with 12 seconds left off of a Jimmy Butler corner three. A bad foul by Derrick Jones Jr. led to the free throw that tied the game for Boston and pushed it into OT.
That’s where Jimmy Butler was clutch once again after putting the Heat up 2 with 12 seconds left.
And then the block heard ’round the world took place.
On a drive to the basket by Jason Tatum, Bam stepped in front and the two met each other at the apex where Bam made his now legendary block on what would have been a game tying dunk.
What a moment, what a game.
We can only imagine what game 2 will bring us tomorrow night at 7 pm.
