Panthers Center Anton Lundell was named NHL Rookie of the Month for January, the league announced.
The 20-year-old led all rookies with 14 assists and 17 points in 15 games in January while helping the Panthers stay a top the NHL standings.
The Finland native capped off the month with five assists on Monday at Columbus, a franchise rookie record for assists/points in a game as well as the 11th five-assist outing by any rookie in the NHL’s expansion era.
Lundell is the first Panther’s Rookie to be named Rookie of the Month since 2013 when Jonathan Huberdeau took home the honor.
