American Woman Seek $66M In Damages From US Soccer

The US Soccer Federation could be on the hook for a lot of money if a judge rules for the women’s national team in their gender discrimination lawsuit.

In papers filed Thursday night in Los Angeles at the US District Court, the reigning World Cup champions are seeking more than $66 million in damages.

Among the documents given to the court were the collective bargaining agreements for both the men’s and women’s teams showing that there are very different pay structures and bonuses for each, which had not been made public before.

The case is scheduled to head to trial on May 5.
