All Rise! Aaron Judge & Yankees Win Again

The Yankees blew a 5-run lead and almost lost the game as the Orioles came back with a go-ahead 2-run Home Run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Everything seemed to go the Bronx Bombers way as they took a quick 5-0 lead when Luke Voit hit a Grand Slam in the 1st inning. J.A. Happ was pitching on an 8-day layoff and could would have gone longer in the game if not for the 1 hour, 34 minutes rain delay in the middle of the 6th inning. He gave up 4 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 2 Ks in 4 innings of work before the weather turned. Once play resumed, Jonathan Loaisiga came in shaky throwing 3 innings and maybe Boone stuck with him too long when Pedro Severino hit a go ahead 2-run Home Run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Orioles that 6-5 lead but that would not last. In the top of the 9th inning, Aaron Judge hit a 3-run Home Run to give the Yankees an 8-6 lead. This would bring in Zach Britton in the bottom of the 9th inning to close out the game and secure another win for the Yankees.

Giancarlo Stanton had another solid night going 3-for-4 with 1 RBI bringing his batting average to .533 but the offensive heroes were Voit and Judge combining for 7 RBIs. So, far the only Yankee without a hit is Gary Sanchez going 0-for-3 and is 0-for-15 with 10 strikeouts to start the season. Lets hope Gary can break that slump when the Yankees face the Red Sox this weekend.
