In a non-pandemic year, we’d be about one month away from the start of a new NBA season. Instead, the 2019-20 season is still going on, and next season might not get underway until January.

In a CNN interview with Bob Costas, commissioner Adam Silver said his “best guess” was that the season “won’t start until ’21.”

Silver says the league plans to play a full 82-game schedule next year, and hopes arenas will be able to host at least a limited number of live fans.
