Panthers goalie, Roberto Luongo will be out for at least a week, due to a hip injury.
Panthers coach Tom Rowe made the announcement Thursday, saying they expect Luongo to miss at least a week of action.
Though it is unclear when Luongo was injured, the goalie left in the game at the end of the 1st period of Thursday night’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Luongo was able to block all 13 goal attempts in the first period which ended 0-0 however he did not always look very comfortable, which seemed to suggest he had been playing through some sort of injury that was worsening.
The Panthers called up James Reimer, who has been playing extremely well in the last few weeks, to replace Luongo in the second.
Despite their efforts, the Panthers still fell to the Flyers 2-1.
