The Florida Panthers had a horrible December but they are looking to make a major comeback against the Nashville Predators tonight at 7:30 pm.
Two-thirds of the Panther’s top line are currently out with injury including star player Jaromir Jagr which made December even more painful but interim coach Tom Rowe says they have been taking advantage of all the time they have to come up to par.
“We needed the rest,” Panthers interim Rowe said of his team, who had been off since Saturday. “But we didn’t take advantage.”
The Predators are just coming off of four straight victories including Thursday nights 6-1 rout over the Tampa Bay Lightning won’t be an easy team to defeat, but without any days off and the Panthers playing a home, the Panthers may have the advantage.
Goalie Roberto Luongo is also extremely motivated to win Friday as he has been stuck at 447 career wins and just one more win will move him passed Terry Sawchuk for fifth place on the NHL’s career victories list.
That and we are sure he probably wants to make up for his decline in December.
Nashville left winger and leading scorer James Neal sat out Thursday with an upper body injury, which could mean another plus for the Panthers, however it is not clear if he will return Friday.
