Michigan’s Basketball Team’s Plane Has Troubled Takeoff

As the Michigan Basketball team was ready to head to Washington D.C for the Big Ten Tournament, the MD83 aircraft that was all boarded had some trouble getting up in the air. The team stated “The Michigan men’s basketball team plane was involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon. After attempting to take off in high winds, takeoff was aborted and, after strong braking, the plane slide off the runway. The plane sustained extensive damage but everyone on board was safely evacuated and is safe. The team is making alternate travel plans.” The aircraft also crashed through a perimeter fence.

Michigan Wolverines are set to compete against Illinois in the second round of the  tournament Thursday at 12 p.m.
